How Cellulose is manufactured

What is cellulose? Cellulose is a polysaccharide (similar to sugar) that is the main component of the cell wall of plant fibers. Along with lignin, resins and minerals (inorganic compounds), cellulose is one of the compounds that make up wood - about 50%. Its molecules, grouped by lignin, form bundles of fibers that make up the plant cells that make up the fibers present in wood.

The objective of the industrial process is to extract cellulose from wood, in the form of a paste separating it from lignin, resins and minerals, which are used in the generation of electrical energy by the factory itself.
